ICON BAR AT TOP OF POST DISAPPEARED

  The bar on the top where you post has disappeared from http://www.beanerywriters.wordpress.com. I now cannot use bold, etc. or split the posts. It was there last evening. Does anyone know what happened or how to correct this situation by getting the functions back? On my other site, http://www.carolyncholland.wordpress.com I still have that icon bar. Thank you.   Have you tried clearing your cache? (Ctrl+F5 on a Windows computer)

  No. Do you just hold those buttons and click? It sounds dumb, but I am computer illiterate. What “cache” will be cleared?

  Well, why not try it? Yes just hold those two buttons. I really can’t explain cache to you. Perhaps you should Google it.

  Clearing cache and cookies

  IE6: Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab: In the “Temporary Internet files” section click on the “Delete Files…” button to clear the cache. Click on “Delete Cookies…” to clear cookies.

  Clear Cookies IE7 Vista:
  1. Exit IE 7, and then exit any instances of Windows Explorer.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type inetcpl.cpl, and then press ENTER.
  3. On the General tab, click Delete under “Browsing History” in the Internet Properties dialog box.
  4. In the “Delete Browsing History” dialog box, click Delete Cookies.
  5. In the “Delete Cookies” dialog box, click Yes.

  Clear Cache IE7 Vista : Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab, next to “Temporary Internet Files” click “Delete files.”

  Clear Cookies IE7 XP: Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab, click “Delete…” button, and in “Cookies” section click “Delete cookies…”

  Clear Cache IE7 XP : Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab, click “Delete…” button, and in “Temporary Internet Files” click “Delete files…”

  Firefox (Windows):

  Clear Cookies: Tools menu > Options > Privacy, click on cookies, click on view cookies, click either on the individual cookies you want to delete, or click on “remove all cookies” button to remove them all.

  Firefox (Mac):

  Clear Cookies and/or Cache: Tools menu > Clear Private Data… select and deselect the options you want and then click “Clear Private Data Now.”

  Safari (Mac):

  Clear Cache: Safari menu > Empty Cache
  Clear Cookies: Safari menu > Security tab, press “Show Cookies”. Highlight the ones you want to delete (cmd-click to select more than one) and click “Remove” or click “Remove all if you wish to clear all of them.

  Sometimes, too, the visual editor just switches itself off. Go to your Profile page and make sure that the box marked “use visual editor when posting” is ticked. If it isn’t, tick it. Then hit Update. That should fix it if this was the problem.
