Icons on draft post page have disappeared

  The row of icons (for margins, adding italics, bold etc.) above the box for writing a new post have disappeared. They’ve been replaced by a series of small boxes with mysterious letters that when I click on them just introduce code.

  How can I get by usual icons back so that I can organise my draft text in the way I want to?
