I’ve created a iContact sign-up html form and when I copied it into the text widget it does not create form, it shows the html code instead. Please advise. Thanks!

Unfortunately, we can’t allow the type of code they offer for security reasons.
However, you can create many kinds of forms with our contact form system: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/
And, you can create even more through Wufoo: http://en.support.wordpress.com/wufoo/

We are attempting to setup an opt-in box for visitors to subscribe to our mailing list and in return receive two FREE e-Books. Does WordPress have the capability of doing this? Thank you.

Unfortunately, not really. You can add a Subscription widget to your sidebar via Appearance -> Widgets in your blog’s Dashboard.
This will allow the users to subscribe to your blog via email, and you’ll have access to their email addresses via your Site Stats section, so you technically could send them their eBooks manually.

Hi MacManx:
One more question: is another service like ConstantContact allowed? I’ve seen over WordPress.com sites that have opt-in (sign-up) forms and once the person signs up they automatically receive the FREE e-book.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. All we officially provide support for is our contact form system and Wufoo forms.
