I'd like to block reblogging.

It’s my understanding from a Forum search that currently, I cannot block reblogging of my posts. I’d like to understand why.

Reblogged entries are often presented without comment or context, making my personal journal or professional content appear under someone else’s header. Having a link and a “This was reblogged from” doesn’t really address my concerns.

I don’t want my posts reblogged unless it is from another blog that I administrate. First, I don’t want my content lifted and put under someone else’s banner, and secondly, for those who don’t understand reblogging, it looks as if I am affiliated with the blog that reblogged me. This is uncool, and I’d like the option to opt out.

Any chance? Or maybe the feature’s been added, and I just can’t find it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No chance. Zero. There are several dozen threads requesting the ability to block reblogs, but staff are set on enabling reblogs. They want to encourage it.

Linking is awesome, and making linking easier would be great. However, reblogging is really going too far- I’m discouraged at your answer.

I don’t want my writing or my work to appear under someone else’s banner, period, it’s uncool, and I’m not sure why giving people like me an opt-out would be bad for WordPress.

Most people love random hits and higher numbers, so I can’t imagine that many would opt out.

WordPress wants to increase links among WP.com blogs. Allowing bloggers to disable reblogging will hurt that.

Thanks much- I appreciate your time, but I don’t like the answer.
I’ll move my plaint to the ideas forum.

Reblogging was litigated heavily in the forum when it first came out – the fine print of a Reblog was changed a bit but it is here to stay – like the answer or not @RC’s answer is the accurate one

Look of the bright side of a Reblog – your content is limited to around 55 words and I think the first picture and there is a link back to your site for the full article

If someone just copies your content, then many forget to put the link back and you get no traffic – or they take all the content and put a link at the end an not much reason for someone to visit your site

Bottom line, Reblog is here to say

If, however, you find you’ve been reblogged to a blog that is nothing BUT reblogs, you can report that blog as spam.

Sorry, I don’t find the 55 words a bright side at all.
You are right, I don’t like the answer.

But I appreciate your time, thank you very much-
