I’d like to have no comments

  Is it possible to turn the COMMENTS function off? I do not want people to be able to leave comments. I just want to post information, and not have it commented on.

  We can’t help you without a link to your blog. And consider linking it in your user name as explained int he sticky at the top of the forums:

  Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
  Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.

  Under Settings – Discussion you will find an option to switch off comments.

  Hi ros–

  thanx for that — but I want to get rid of that bit of type completely — i don’t want people to even see the word ‘comments’ — it’s for a website that just posts info.

  You can’t get rid of that unless you have the paid CSS upgrade and know how to use it. Even then, you might find that it is hard coded in with the other post metadata so you would end up stripping out much more than you wanted to. Best just to live with it, really.

  And sometimes it is in the underlying theme files which we have no access to at all, even with the CSS upgrade.
