  how to remove author name

  Note that not every theme is designed to display a byline. For a partial list of themes that provide author bylines and/or author profiles or not see here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

  Regardless of the theme, and provided the theme is designed to display an author byline, bylines will only display now if there are at least two official authors who both have at least one published post in the blog.   To hide the display of the author byline on posts on a theme designed to display them requires on purchasing the annually renewable custom and CSS editing:

  rename the authors of blog

  I’m not clear on what you mean by that. There is only one blog owner of any blog. It’s the person with the username account who registered the blog and who is the original Admin of the blog. In a single author blog, if there are no others who have been assigned an author role then they are not authors then the username that will appear as a byline is the blog owner’s.

  Thank you. This is the problem. On the right side of my main page it says two names. I’d like it to read just A. Hynes.

  How do I change this?

  Is that a text widget at the top of the sidebar?
  If not then exactly which kind of widget is it please?
  Have you tried > Appearance > Widgets open widget, edit content, click “save” click “close”.
