I'd like to view my site exactly as the theme I chose. but…

Hi. My apologies I have contacted many times, but I am hopeless here and have to launch my site by Nov 28.

    I am working on https://hironakayamablog.wordpress.com/

Basically, I want it exactly as Shoreditch Theme.
How can I achieve it exactly?

On its demo, there seems 7 sections on home page.
    1.Navigation
    2.Image
    3.Template-Panel, Full-Width,Default
    4.Image
    5.Testimonials
    6.Email US
    7.About,Latest Post,Map

On my page, test contents I insert on my home page. How can I get these?

As for images, I selected both Panel and Full-Width to test, but my image doesn’t appear edge to edge just like Shoreditch Theme.

On my home page, Navigation: Home, About, Page, Contact, Blog, Testimonials.
I just want to view Home, About, Contact at this moment, but make Page, Blog and Testimonals invisible. How to set it?

    Millions thanks!
    Hiro

    Hi there,

I want it exactly as Shoreditch Theme.
How can I achieve it exactly?

To install Shoreditch Theme on your WordPress.com site, visit this link and activate it: https://wordpress.com/theme/shoreditch/. Know more about themes from this link.

On my page, test contents I insert on my home page. How can I get these?

Can you please provide some more details on the issue, mentioned above?

As for images, I selected both Panel and Full-Width to test, but my image doesn’t appear edge to edge just like Shoreditch Theme.

You may use Customize option as per your requirement. See below links for reference.

    Customizer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/
    Custom Design: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Also, all the details about the theme including image sizes, static front page etc. are given on the the theme page. Find it here.

On my home page, Navigation: Home, About, Page, Contact, Blog, Testimonials.
I just want to view Home, About, Contact at this moment, but make Page, Blog and Testimonals invisible. How to set it?

You can definitely have above three menus on your homepage. Refer this link to understand how custom menus work.

    Hope this works! :)

    Hi. Thanks for your reply.

Actually I have already looked at links you suggested.

    1. I have already install Shorenditch theme to
    https://hironakayamablog.wordpress.com/
    Can you see my page?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

Yes! I saw it. Did you try using Customize option? Make a static front page, if you want to make your site look like the theme demo. I have given the links for this, above.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yes. It is static.

I want to see all functions or sections just like the them on my home page.
Could you help me to view, say testimonials, on my home page?

Am on the same journey. Migrating from a simple blog and want to replicate the same as Shoreditch. Hope I have not taken more that I can chew :).

If am knocking the issues one by one. Now, I am on the testimonial page. I see testimonial section. Started to type some content. Publish. Nothing appears. Do I need to create a child page to allocate them in the home page? I assume it will be the same for the rest of the sub-sections?

By the way, link to the site: rightsideofthependulum.com

Hi. I still couldn’t get anything but featured image. How did you get other elements before testimonials?

  • Unknown's avatar

One more. How do you add Child Page?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, shame I can add a picture. It is described in the shoreditch page but here goes:
1- create a page via your normal dashboard. In the page attribute make it to Panel page template (define other variables as no parent and order 0) .
2- create another page via your normal dashboard. In the page attribute template to default template. Define other variables as Parent “name of page you created” and order 1 if you want it to be the first child page)

    Hope this helps

    Thanks.

1- create a page via your normal dashboard. In the page attribute make it to Panel page template (define other variables as no parent and order 0) .
—-> When I activated, Home is set as front page and parent. How can I change parent to no parent?
Or you are referring another page? Which is not front page?

2- create another page via your normal dashboard. In the page attribute template to default template. Define other variables as Parent “name of page you created” and order 1 if you want it to be the first child page)
—> done. But I do not see this page on Home. But for some reason, I see testimonials in navigation. Once clicked, new page opens and I see the contents which I did not type. And those contacts do not reflect on my home page like the theme shoreditch. By the way, I found Testimonials as customize—>menus—>primary But I can’t make any change.

    what does yours look like?

    Any idea

Define other variables as Parent “name of page you created” and order 1 if you want it to be the first child page)
—> I don’t have control over this. Any new pages created automatically set as Parent Page
