I’d love help adding “recent posts list” to flat html page!
-
I would like to show a list of “recent posts” from a WordPress.com blog. But I want the “recent posts” list to show up on a flat HTML page.
To be more clear…
– There is a WordPress.com blog
– There is also a flat HTML website
– I would like to show the “recent posts” for the WordPress blog on the homepage of the flat HTML website. Is there is a way to do this?
Should this be done using an iframe or an RSS feed?
Ideally I can keep the flat website flat rather than converting it to WordPress.Any pointer to docs that talk about what to do would be great.
Thanks a lot for any pointers, advice, or thoughts you can spare!!!!
With joy,

Hi timethief.
The WordPress.org folks specifically sent me to WordPress.COM It’s a wp.com issue because wp.com would ideally have a “here’s how it’s done with wp.com”.
The WordPress.org post can be found here…
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/401299?#post-1523607I would have thought this would have been a fairly common thing to want. Am I wrong?
Thanks!

Thanks for asking timetheif. I should have listed that initially.
I’m hoping to do with for a friend/client. Her site is http://marcyswenson.wordpress.com
The site I’m making is just a flat html site which ideally will show her top blog posts.
Goodness,

The feed for posts is http://marcyswenson.wordpress.com/feed/
The feed for comments is http://marcyswenson.wordpress.com/comments/feed/Setting up the ability to draw the feeds onto the “website” which you have not provided the link to is not a wordpress.COM issue.

That all makes sense timethief. Maybe there’s a third party that can take a wordpress feed and make it into a widget that I can insert via an iframe or the like. I’ll start googling for that now.

It looks like http://www.rssinclude.com is working for me. This is very cool. I’ll be poking more, but I think I’m good now. Thanks so much for the direction and advice timethief!!!!!
