Idea: offer an RSS feed for comments you’ve made elsewhere

  I think it would be way cool if WordPress.com offerd its users an RSS feed of comments written BY the user.

  For instance if I comment on someone else’s blog while signed in, that will appear in the feed.

  Doing this would allow, for example, me to plug this feed into a sidebar RSS widget on my blog to show my readers where else I’ve been writing stuff.

  I think this is a great idea. Do you?

  Do you use coComments? Do your readers? Have you claimed them in Your Community at coComments? If so then you’ve already got this covered without the use of a widget.

  timethief, or anyone else, regarding coComments (i presume you’re a user), i’m contemplating integrating its Firefox extention, but do you know if doing so affects my browser performance in any noticeable way?

  i’m using the bookmarklet now, which is fine, but it’d be cooler to not have to think about it.

  Mike, I imagine it would be, and I’d rather stay ‘in-house’ than use a third party app — except I wonder if they’d only track comments on other WordPress blogs, instead of anywhere on the web.

  If it was done by staff, it would be just the blogs here at wp.com. if you used cocomment, it would be everywhere. As long as you remembered to tag the comment. That’s my big downfall on cocomment. I never remember.

  I have the firefox2 extension for coCommnets and I love it. I never have to remember to click coComments on that upper taskbar as I did before and frequently forgot to do. Now it’s down on the very bottom just above my windows bottom task bar on the right hand corner and every time I leave a comment on any blog anywhere it’s automatically on. I don’t have to do a thing to activate it. I don’t bother to tag and still have a record of every comment. Go for it! :D
  P.S. The only time it isn’t auto recording my comments is on the forum but I don’t need that there’s a record kept on my forum profile page of every post I make here and there’s the forum search box too.
