Ideal Theme idea

Currently I use Digg 3 column and I like it because it has 3 columns, 2 sidebars, and a customizable header image. But it has a fixed width which really limits the size of image I can post and when viewed on a widescreen computer, my blog looks very narrow.
So an ideal theme would be one that’s very similiar to Digg 3 (3 columns, 2 sidebars, customizable header imager) with a flexible width. I could really go to town with such a theme!

I’d love something similiar to this! I’d really love a 3 column theme with customizable color options and a custom header.

I use the Garland theme. It has a flexible width, 3 columns, and 2 sidebars, although it does not have a custom header. Just custom colors. However, WP seems to be having some troubles with the customization saving to your blog during the new dashboard phase-in. I’m sure they’ll get it fixed soon though. *fingers crossed*

Color! Well…I usually go for black anyway. I wish there was one with color, a custom header and 3 columns!

What would be really nice, would be an interactive menu where one could pick how many sidebars one wanted, width of these, background colours, custom headers etc., all available as one configured the blog. A sort of truly customisable theme, within a set of given parameters.
Of course, that’s just wishful thinking….
Unless….
Anybody want to run with this idea?

That’s a pretty good idea! Maybe they should just stop with the multitude of ‘fixed’ themes and give us one mix-and-match menu for our theme.
