IDEATION & INTENT Great theme, however…
-
Ideation & Intent is an awesome theme. A lot of value for a free theme. A couple of observations, as I use it at
kingofages.com
1) The font for the text in the blog posts is easy to read, but note that the italics are such that when a word is italicized in the default font, it runs into the next word. I.e, the italics are a bit clunky.
2) The background for the theme is textured or something to that effect; it is not a solid background.
Can we consider an option to turn that on or off?3) The font size used for image graphics can be too large for mid sized or small graphics.
example: http://kingofages.com/2011/07/08/0807fearnot/Overall, I have to say this is really a kick-ass theme. However, as I have 175 blog posts that can be text and image intensive, I tend to notice small things. Perhaps I ought to man up and get a custom theme, but I am a writer, not a CSS editor.
Cheers

(Sorry if I’ve already posted this in the wrong place, when I’ve seen the advice it was too late)
Me too, I like a lot this theme, but it has some fatal flaws, so I don’t know if I should use it.
You can change the blog title’s color, but not the post titles’ color at the same time. It should have at least two color schemes (i.e. bright and dark), this way changing the color of the title is just useless (i.e. blog title blue, but post titles still orange? Horrible, right?).
Also the font is kind of messy (and often too faint! I can’t read my tag cloud!), for instance P, F and g seem to “bleed”, if you know what I mean.
Oh, and I can’t decide on template for pages. It would be specially useful to be able to choose between a template with “photos’ sidebar”, one with the widget sidebar and one with nothing… or at least being able to disable “photos’ sidebar” on pages and/or posts’ template.
I know I made a lot of remarks, but the only reason is ’cause I like this theme very much, with this large and readable pagination, photos on homepage, all my posts available with infinite scrolling… ah, but it would be nice to choose to show, let’s say, last 3 posts instead of just one) and I really like to see an improved version.
Cheers ^__^

This theme has tremendous potential, and its already 98% there. Let’s hope there’s an “ideation & intent” 2.0.
That said, it is truly an awesome template.
Automattic, Keep up the good work!

I, too, really like this theme, but I find the built-in images sidebar awkward and would like to remove it. When I installed the theme, it was not clear from the theme description that this feature could not be turned off on wordpress.com. Only after I had the site fully set up did it become a problem. I’ve considered moving to my own hosting or purchasing the customizable upgrade, but I’m not sure it’s worth it for something so tiny, especially since I’d have to buy the upgrade for multiple blogs.
I’d like to request the theme creators make the images sidebar optional in the next version of this theme.
I’d also like to request that WordPress folks make the theme pages more clearly delineate what features are customizable on wordpress.com and which aren’t.
Thank you~ ^_^
