  How can I identify legit followers or subscribers

  Hi there, generally I would suggest looking for any email addresses, usernames and the like that look spammy. We at WordPress.com, and the Akismet and Jetpack plugins take security and spam seriously, so generally there isn’t a lot to worry about.

  Do you have any specific concerns?

  This was the user registration I received.

  Email: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  Because the email address looked odd, I was asking the question wondering my risk.

  Personally I would consider that a spammy email address given the search engine ranker help portion.

  Marking such as spam will help the spam filters learn and prevent similar accounts from following you.
