identity theft when commenting

it happens that some users use to steel other users’ identity when posting comments. I was thinking of a system designed to counter these acts: some kind of recognizing by a password first time a user comments on any blog (and then, supposedly, some way of recognizing him/her), so that this issue should no longer be an issue.

You could make the blog comments by registered and logged in users only. This would mean that nobody could post a comment as someone else.

Can cut down on the comment traffic though.

Well simple, an IP will help identfy someone, just tell everyone that you are allways logged in, logged out comments don’t show pictures unless a previous comment by a logged in member from that IP appeared.

And only on recent comments, on the post you can allways tell if someone is logged in.
