In what way do you think we can help you? Below are some troubleshooting tips in case you are still having issues.
How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Which browser and version of it are you using? Have your tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies
Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.
http://browsehappy.com/Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?
You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
Sometimes operating system and/or security system updates can cause problems so check for known issues. When you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.

I’m also on Windows XP and cannot upgrade to IE9. I rarely use IE8 at all. I’m a Firefox user and if you wish you can get a Firefox 7.0.1 browser as well. It’s by far superior to IE. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Specifically, what are you having trouble doing on your free hosted WordPress.com blog?
-
It looks like you’re using an old version of Internet Explorer. For the best WordPress experience, please update your browser.

Computer and browser and Flash player versions are not frozen in time. They are continually upgraded. If you do not upgrade them then you cannot expect proper performance. You will experience issues.
-
Sometimes, my computer kept on poping up to install IE 9. I still didn’t do it.
My flash player updates do not install by itself.
-
You cannot install IE9 on windows XP. That’s why I suggested that you get a Firefox browser. You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

I’m sorry but we can’t and don’t provide support for computer issues here. We only provide support for free hosted WordPress.com blog issues. As you have Windows 7 you can install an IE9 browser upgrade. See > How do I install or uninstall Internet Explorer 9?

-
I gave you the link above and I can do not more for you as your issues are with your own computer. If the information at the link is not sufficient then you will have to hire a local computer technician to help you.

IE is weird no matter what version, because it continues to ignore various web standards: if you like having problems, stick with it. As timethief said, better download and start using Firefox (or Safari).

I saw this message this morning:
It looks like you’re using an insecure version of Internet Explorer. Using an outdated browser makes your computer unsafe. For the best WordPress experience, please update your browser.
