IE8 Compatibility view

On the whole taking IE8 out of compatibility mode has solved issues with using WordPress but sometimes when working on blog whole computer shuts downs and IE8 forces compatibility mode when restarted.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Because IE8 is way out of date. They are now rolling out IE10 so i would think you either update or change to another browser such as Firefox. With an out of date browser you will always have issues that just cannot be resolved. The fact your computer is forcing compatibility mode should tell you something! Firefox works well with WordPress, but you must keep it up to date, as is the case with all browsers, if you want things to work correctly.

IE8 is the latest version for XP so I can’t upgrade to IE9 – I surely cannot be the only person in this situation.

You’re probably not the only person, but the internet is always changing and moving forward, and unless you change with it you will be left behind. Oudated browsers will never work correctly, and will always cause problems, it’s as simple as that. And also XP is years out of date, and will stop working altogether at some point, because, as you realise, you can’t update your browser with XP, so you are getting further and further behind at every browser update. IE10 is about to be rolled out, so your problems will only get worse unless you update.

Of course you aren’t alone. I’m also running WP and you can do exactly what I did and download a Chrome or Firefox browser at this link http://browsehappy.com
