If I buy my own domain (through wordpress), THEN can I advertise?

  I noticed that I can buy my own domain for $15 on wordpress. If I do this, can I advertise on my blog?

  Nor if you buy the CSS upgrade. Nor the storage upgrade. The ONLY situation where you can have ads on a WP.com blog is the VIP program, which costs about $600 a month.

  Why not? Don’t WordPress wanna keep their users? I want to get advertise on my blog and maybe start to earn some money on the blog.

  If you want to earn money on your blog, make a blog using wordpress blog, you can do what you like with those. Of course WordPress wants to keep their users, but this is a free service they’re offering (which considering the number of users must be considerably expensive to maintain) and for you to expect to make money from their free service is arrogant to say the least.
