    Hi John,

I’m sorry for the trouble. We aren’t able to offer phone support, but I’d be happy to help you here.

Can you describe exactly what changes you’d like to make to your site? I can then walk you through the steps to make those changes.

If you’d prefer to cancel your custom domain, just let me know and I can take care of that for you. However, please keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future.

If you’d like to keep the domain and use it somewhere else, you can move it to a new host instead: Move Your Domain to Another Host

I don’t know how to get rid of unnecessary things I don’t want :

    The search button
    Twenty-thirteen theme
    leave a reply
    Post comment
    You may use HTML Tags…,

I want my video links to show thumbnails of youtube videos.
I know it can do this because the first time I tried it I got thumbnails of each video.

I want to be able to arrange the order of the menu bar selections.

I want to be able to edit pages text
    And insert pictures on pages.

I would like to be able to modify things.
I did my best to figure things out but
Your approach and terminology excape me.
    That’s it for now,

    Hi John,

Here’s how you can remove each of the things you don’t want on your site:

You can disable the sharing section under Settings > Sharing in your site’s dashboard. We have details about those settings and how they work here: Sharing

    The search button

The search button is part of your theme’s design, and there isn’t a setting to remove that. However, you can customize your theme’s design with the Custom Design upgrade. With that, you can use Custom CSS to remove the search button from your theme.

    Twenty-thirteen theme

The footer credit is required to be displayed according to our terms of service:
    http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

Note that even sites hosted through our VIP program, such as the TED blog, display a credit to WordPress.com in the footer.

leave a reply Post comment You may use HTML Tags

The comment section can be removed entirely by disabling comments on your posts and pages. We have a guide for that here: Enable and Disable Comments

I want my video links to show thumbnails of youtube videos. I know it can do this because the first time I tried it I got thumbnails of each video.

You can embed YouTube videos using the steps described here: YouTube

Our team is currently investigating an issue where sometimes when you paste in a YouTube link the video doesn’t become automatically embedded — it just shows the link. In that case, I’d recommend using our YouTube shortcode instead. To use that shortcode, you can paste this code in to your posts or pages, replacing the link in this code with the link to your video:

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaNH56Vpg-A]

I want to be able to arrange the order of the menu bar selections.

You can have complete control over what items are in your site’s menu and their order by setting up a custom menu: Custom Menus

I want to be able to edit pages text And insert pictures on pages.

You can edit any page by visiting the page on your site and clicking the “Edit” link you see there. You can also edit all of your site’s pages from your My Sites page by clicking the “Pages” link under your site’s title.

Once you’re in the page editor, you can add pictures to the page using the “Add Media” button there. We have more about how inserting pictures works here: Adding Images to Posts or Pages

Please let me know if you have any questions about that or any other things you’re trying to do with your site. :) You may also want to check out our Learn WordPress.com tutorial if you’d like an introduction to how WordPress.com works: http://learn.wordpress.com/

Thank you rachelmcr. You were very helpful. I fixed almost everything.
I somehow got two home pages listed but only one appears on the menu.

I tried to follow the instructions for ordering the items on the menu but it didn't work.
I dragged them in position as your video showed. Then I updated but nothing changed.
my theme is: the twenty – thirteen theme

The add for create a free web site makes my site look cheap!

    Hi John,

Can you please let me know the exact order you’d like for the items in your menu? I can then take a closer look to see what might be going on there.

Hello word press:I created a free site but did not get a confirmation email. Is that why I
    can't seem to publish?

    Hi John,

Your account is confirmed, so that wouldn’t explain any problems you’re having with publishing. Can you describe the steps you’re taking when you create and try to publish a post or page? Please let me know if you get any specific error messages along the way.
