If i change my profile midstream, will it affect old published blogs?

  I have two blogs under one account. One is an old inactive blog and the other I am about to activate. However, I would like to update my profile name to reflect my new blog. (I really should have started a new account! Grrr…)
  I understand changing the profile name will be reflected into both blogs. However, if the old blog is inactive, will my new profile name change old published blogs in inactive blog?

  I’m sorry, I’m not understanding what you want to do. Can you provide more specifics like the exact username you’d like to change yours to and the site URLs you’re asking about?

  Hi! My current username is 30x30x30user1 at the moment which was created for the blog http://www.30x30x30Challenge.wordpress.com. This blog is no longer active. (I do not want to delete this blog as I may need to transfer it to a different administartor in the future).
  I then started a new blog called lefttomyowndevices under the same account. I would like to change the profile name to something like sarahts. I understand that changing my profile name will affect across all blogs under the same account. What I would like to know is whether the profile name in the published blogs in the 30x30x30Challenge will change as well or retroactively change it?

  @30x30x30user1, your profile name would change in old posts, but the posts will still work fine. They’ll just have the other name on them.

  Hi @supernovia! Is there any way I can prevent that from happening?

  Is a separate account required for a separate profile identity then? Is that the only way I can resolve issue? Thanks.

  Yup, you’ll need a separate account if you need two profiles.

  If your email provider allows aliases (another address that points to your main address) I’d recommend using one to create a new account.

  You can use Chrome Profiles to make it easier to switch between accounts, too.

  Also, if you need to transfer one of the blogs to that new account, no problem: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
