If I change to wordpress.org am do I keep premium plan or get a refund?
-
Am I better off keeping my premium plan if I move to WordPress.org or won’t I need it? Alternatively can I change my domain name and keep my WordPress.com account and start a different site using WordPress.org?
Also are plug ins like Jetpack available for free through WordPress.org?
Lastly if I decide to just stay with WordPress.com can I add a domain name or do I need to get another plan?
Thank-you, any information about changing to WordPress.org would be welcomed.

Hi, any plans you are subscribed to in WordPress.COM are unrelated to WordPress.ORG sites. To get a better understanding on the differences between the two in case it’s not clear: difference between .COM & .ORG sites .
Also check this page to help choose which better suits your needs:
The Jetpack plugin is specifically for WordPress.ORG ‘self-hosted’ sites to bring the same functionality that you have by default in a WordPress.COM hosted site.
Regarding domains, you can have whatever available domain you own point to whatever WordPress site you want, for more info on how this is managed in a WordPress.COM hosted site, please see this page:
For more info and support regarding a WordPress.ORG site, please head over to WordPress.ORG’s support site where there is a dedicated support forum and comprehensive documentation to help you get your site how you want it.
Let us know if you have any more queries related to your WordPress.COM sites, thanks.

Hi there,
Are you referring to http://risqueviewscom.wordpress.com/? Your account does not own that site or the upgrades on it. The username risqueview does.
Am I better off keeping my premium plan if I move to WordPress.org or won’t I need it?
As @acesabe said above, you cannot move any WordPress.com upgrade to a self-hosted site. We can convert your Premium Plan into a Jetpack Premium plan if you prefer, though.
Alternatively can I change my domain name and keep my WordPress.com account and start a different site using WordPress.org?
Do you mean change the domain of your WordPress.com site? Domains are registered for a year at a time, so you’ll need to register a new domain to replace the current one should you want to change it.
Do you mean can you use the domain you bought from us with a self-hosted site, yes, you can. You’ll find instructions to either point or transfer a domain from us to other providers here:
Also are plug ins like Jetpack available for free through WordPress.org?
On a self-hosted site you’ll be able to use plugins. Some plugins are free, while some are paid, just like themes. Jetpack is a free plugin, though it has paid plans with additional features.
Lastly if I decide to just stay with WordPress.com can I add a domain name or do I need to get another plan?
If you want to add a second domain to your existing site you don’t need a plan again, you can just buy an additional domain. If you want to add a domain to a different/new site, you’ll need to buy a plan for that site as well.
