If I change username, can I reuse the old one?
-
I don’t currently have a WordPress blog, but I do have an account. The username is my name. I’ve been using it to run a blog for a friend. He’s now ready to go solo, and I want to turn the blog over to him, but still have an account in my name. I’ve just been messing around with the blog transfer function, which I think would do what I want, but there are some complications involving creation of an account for him.
Question: can I accomplish the same thing by (1) changing all contact email addresses on the account to his (2) changing the username of the existing account (3) creating a new account in my name?
Part of my hesitation is being uncertain as to whether I will be able to re-use the username and email address. I wouldn’t mind giving the new account a new name but want to be able to use the same email address. Thanks.
