  If I choose to map instead of transfer my domain, can I change that? I’m looking at changing to wordpress from wix and before making the decision I just want to play around and get a feeling for wordpress. Thanks!

  You can definitely do that, yes. You can even start out with just a free site on a free example.wordpress.com subdomain if you prefer.

  To map a domain you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan, and the plan includes one new domain registration or domain transfer. You can use that free transfer at any point, even if you already have the same domain mapped to us.
