If I close comments on 1 blog post, comments close on all blog posts

Good morning everyone,
I’m getting a weird issue with my blog and I hope that you can help.
I’m trying to close comments on some old blog posts because I no longer want people to react to this content.
When I untick the “allow comments” box on one of these old blog posts, it does the trick: people can no longer comment on this article. Great.But it gets tricky because as a result, it is no longer possible to post a comment on ANY other blog post (even though the “allow comments” box is still ticked on these other blog posts). Very odd.
Does anyone have an idea of what is going on ?
