If I delete a category, will it delete my product listings in that category too?

    Hiya, I just have a quick question:

    So basically I sell a lot of different products and there are a lot of different categories.

    The person who did my website though made too many similar categories -e.g. caps&hats, hats&headgear & sports caps. Each of these categories has different listings in them. I just want to delete all of them and put them under one category,: Hats.
    But when I want to delete the category it comes with a warning that it will be permanently deleted from the site.

    I just want to know, if I delete a category will it delete my listings in that category? and if it does, how can I keep my listings but move them into a different category, then delete the categories that I don’t want?

    How can I go about this?

    Hello there,

    Generally speaking, deleting the category doesn’t delete the products.

    For piece of mind, you may want to re-assign the products to the desired categories before deleting the categories.
