If I delete my blog

I recently moved from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I did an export of all my posts, images, etc and it worked great. If I delete my wordpress.com blog will the images on my new blog delete? I am noticing that the images when they open up have the old blog in the URL so I am worried if I delete the old blog they will redirect to a broken link?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Deleting the .wordpress.com blog is not a wise move. Making it private so your can periodically import content from the .org blog into it so you have backup blog on completely different servers is the way to go. To change blog visibility to Private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Site Visibility and choose option 3

Don’t delete the old blog here – all the pictures on your new blog will go away – it looks like you did not check the box to have the media / pictures transferred to your new site –
Not sure of the fix – might ask over at .ORG –
If you set your site here to private I think that will stop all the pictures being displayed on your new site
The staff should be able to give you some more suggestions
Not sure what importing your blog again would do or if you would need to clear the new site
Your new site needs some work on the front page – way slow loading with tons of pictures – it never did fully load for me

Also – I am seeing all the photos in my new blog photo library but they all say under “uploaded to” – “unattached.” Any idea what that means? I have the option to attach, but not sure where to go from there

This is not a definitive answer. I recall having to create post and attach my unattached images to it.That was years ago and I don’t know if it’s the case now which brings us full circle back to why I tagged this for Staff.It’s in your best interest that we stop posting to this thread so we do not keep moving the timestamp forward as that means it will take longer to get staff help.

Attaching the images to the Posts will not address your problem. I have attached many images & other media to Posts when something did not work as planned on the upload – sorry can’t remember all the details – as @TT notes above – best to sit tight and wait to see what the staff has to say – – your site is currently working so no damage is being done to your visitors

Not to worry about the images transferring over. They were all transferred, however, in some of your posts the images are still linked to their older counterparts in WordPress.com. If you take a look at your post here:

However, a copy of it also resides in your new server:
What I’d suggest is to go into your posts and update these images if you prefer to have them linked to your new server. Otherwise, you may leave them as is since I don’t see them causing a major problem.
I would caution against deleting your blog. You may want to purchase a Site Redirect upgrade to redirect traffic instead.

how would I go into the posts and update the images to make them linked to the new server?
i deleted a couple of posts in thevanillabeandream and the images all deleted on nonisplace. that’s the problem I am facing. so i want to avoid that.

To edit your posts, go to your Posts panel:
http://www.nonisplace.com/wp-admin/edit.php
And click on the post you’d like to edit. However, at this point, we are dealing with a WordPress.org blog and it would be very difficult for me to assist you now that your files and data are no longer hosted on WordPress.com.
