if i link to local host and not wordpress do i lose widget functionality?

    I want to develop on wordpress,com but want to host at local host – if I map the blog url do I loose functionality and data base

    can I continue updating on wordpress.com and will the updates ‘pull through’ on the local host domain?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello

    WordPress.com sites are completely separate from any website that you might develop using “localhost” (which means to develop the website on your computer using a product such as WAMP, MAMP or DesktopServer).

    You can not connect WordPress.com to a local install.

    It is also not possible to develop a site on WordPress.com and connect it to a WordPress site hosted with another hosting company in the way that you describe.

    It is possible to develop a website on your local computer and push it to a self-hosted WordPress site, but we can’t offer support for that here, but the self-hosted WordPress support forum can.
