If I need an e-commerce plug in, should I transfer my blog to wordpress.org?

I am in the process of setting up my jewelry blog and just realized that wordpress.com doesn’t support plug-ins.

Now I have some questions that I can’t find answers to.

    1) Can I transfer the current blog over to wordpress.org without redoing my work? Will my current theme work on wordpress.org?
    2) Do I have to know code and stuff to run a blog on wordpress.org?

    Thanks for your help!

    1) yes
    2) no, but it helps

You can sell things you make yourself on a WP.com blog and I know several people who do, but it’s not as sophisticated as the plugins available for WP.org.

    1) MistyLook is available for download for self-hosted blogs, but it has been updated a couple times and looks a little different from the version used here.

you have the code, so if know some css and php, you can make it look like your current work..
