If I pay for my renewal early will my exp date stay the same for next year?
-
I received an email that said “You will be charged $99.00 for this renewal in 29 days, on April 7, 2014.”
I wanted to pay with a different card so I cancelled the auto renew function. It now says Expiring on May 8th. (Not sure about the month descrepancy but assuming you do the auto payments a month in advance.
My question is if I go and pay for the renewal now will my renewal date still be May 8th of next year or will I be shorting myself 2 months?

Hi there,
The auto-renew process for domain mapping upgrades always commences one month earlier than the expiry date this is to ensure that if anything goes sideways we do not lose our domains. That being said I always get the full coverage and have never been “shorted”. -

My question is if I pay now (March 21st) will my renewal date stay May 8th or become March 21st? (which in essence would short me two months)
Your renewal just adds a year onto your existing expiration date. You do not lose time by renewing early.
