If I start a WordPress.com blog, will readers be able to find my IP address?
-
I live in an isolated area, so anyone who had my IP address + the potential subject of my blog –could probably drive right to my house! (Not to mention the possibility of being dooced.) I’m not talking about anything illegal or inflammatory or slanderous or libelous — I’m just talking about privacy. (Forgive me if this question is ignorant beyond belief. I’m new at this.)

Your blog will be hosted on wordpress.com and your blog will have wordpress.com’s IP address, not your’s. However, when you leave a comment on someone else’s worpdress.com blog, your IP address will be shown to that blog owner (but no one else); it will not appear on the comment or anywhere. So, just having a blog will not reveal anything.
