If I started a second blog could it be completely unconnected to my first blog?

If I start a second blog, will it be directly (or indirectly) linked to my first? My current blog is reflective of my professional development, but I am thinking of starting a more personal, reflective style blog. From personal experience, I dislike it when I decide to follow someone after reading a professional, thought provoking article and then suffer constant updates about their personal life. Equally, I don’t want someone I know professionally to make the link between my two blogs or between my personal blog and me.

Sign up for the personal blog with a different email address so there will be two separate accounts. Use a different gravatar for the second account. Never mention the professional blog in the personal blog and vice versa.
