If I upgrade to Video Press How many more videos can I upload

  I just started my blog. I added about 3 videos from YouTube that were embedded in my blog. I was adding a thumbnail picture with all my posts. All of a sudden I was told I was out of the 3GB I get free with WordPress.

  I wanted to know if anyone knows how many more pictures and videos I can embed with Video Press if I purchase it?

  If you’re just using YouTube videos, there’s no need to upload them. Just put them in using the shortcode [youtube=URL] and then it takes NO space from your WordPress.com space, as they’re hosted at YouTube instead. Did you need instructions for that?

  Videopress is more for people who want to upload high quality unique videos, probably ones they made themselves. You don’t need to pay to use YouTubes, and they don’t take any space when you use t above format. Use t URL in the box beside the video, not the one at the top of the page at Youtube.

  What I have been doing is using the embedded url code that you can take from youtube. I want the video image to show up in my blog so the reader can just click the play button and watch without leaving my blog. I have been placing the code in the HTML tab rather than the visual tab. Is this right?

  Also, how do I change the image that is showing up next to this post to a picture that I want? Is this the Avatar. If so, I can’t figure out how to change it.

  It’s right, but it shouldn’t have any effect whatsoever on your space available. Because it’s STILL hosted at YouTube instead. There are three ways to embed YouTubes, but none of them should effect your space.

  Looking at your blog, I can’t actually see anything that could be taking up that much space. What have you used the Media Upload button for, besides those pictures you’ve got? That’s the only thing that should make any difference

  I think something weird happened when I was uploading the last picture for my last post. It gave me a html error and then I looked an thought I was out of space because the upgrades were right there. I guess I never noticed them before so I thought I had used too much space. I tried uploading the picture again and it worked. It is so hard to get a handle on all the new social media out there.

  Thank you so much for all your help. I feel like such a newbie it is so frustrating!

  No, no, you’re not out of space. They’re just trying to sell you an upgrade. You can safely ignore it. I’ve been uploading pix for three years and am nowhere near filling up my space allotment.

  No worries, we were all new once.
