If I upgrade, will everything transfer and redirect?

    I would like to upgrade my free wordpress.com to a premium level ($99/yr) , but I can’t find a clear explanation of how the process works. I don’t understand what’s meant by a “custom site address.” I love my current site but am looking for something a little more permanent with more room as my archives grow, so I am ready to upgrade.

    EXCEPT that I am terrified of…

    A) losing my current content – i.e. all my archives disappearing
    B) losing my current followers – i.e. no one can find the new domain
    C) problems for people looking at the old address getting redirected to the new one.

    Can someone explain how the process works?

    A) archives are safe and stay where they are – the old links still work
    B) followers still get notified – old address still works as well as new address
    C) redirect is auto

    All that changes is the address visitors see when they visit your site – the old address keeps working and the redirect is automatic and seamless

    You register your new custom domain name then you map it to your existing blog – both are included in the $99.-/yr package
