If I want a website with mydomainname.com , I see that I have to pay $18

  I understand that $18.00 is for the domain name, but after paying this amount and building my website , how do I host it? Is the hosting free with wordpress for mydomainname.com website or is it extra cost or do I have to go to a different hosting provider?
  I know mydomainname.wordpress.com is always free with hosting too and I am not looking for this information related to it.

  you stay hosted here for free – mydomainname.com is laid on top of mydomainname.wordpress.com – the old address will keep working but you will have a new address that shows up when people visit your blog
