If I wanted to pay for a different name
-
My current blog’s URL is thetwinfactor.wordpress.com, which I paid $18. to have changed to thetwinfactor.com. I’ve been thinking that I might want to go back to using my original choice for a URL, which was twinsanity.com. I didn’t go with twinsanity because there’s already a twinsanity.wordpress.com. However, if I wanted to pay $18.00 per year for the name twinsanity.com (with “.wordpress” removed), could I have it changed without having to pay for 2 names? And if twinsanity.com isn’t available, could I use something else such as twinsanity.co or twinsanity.xyz?

If you purchased the domain within the last 2 days (48 hours), you can cancel it and request a refund.
To do that, read the guide here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/If the refund period has passed, yes you can still register the other domain for your blog.
Twinsanity.com is not available, however you can register twinsanity.co for $25 and point it to thetwinfactor.wordpress.com.
