If I were to decide to go Premium, what happens to the URL of my current blog?

No problem … just wondering. Will links to current posts still be valid? Also, is that a yearly or a one time fee? What if I have already paid the $30 to be able to further customize my blog [which I have}? Does that come off the price?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes. Any links to your ______.wordpress.com URL will redirect to any custom domain you choose.

Also, is that a yearly or a one time fee?

WordPress.com Premium would need to be paid yearly.

What if I have already paid the $30 to be able to further customize my blog [which I have}? Does that come off the price?

As you are halfway through your yearly Custom Design upgrade, that money cannot be applied to the purchase of WordPress.com Premium.

So then, what specifically are the tangible advantages for me to lay out $100 annually? Convince me!!

  • Well, you are already paying $30/yr for custom design. So, the question is, do you find $70 worth of value in the rest of what is included in WordPress.com Premium.

Personally, I find the No Ads and Custom Domain upgrades to be very worthwhile. Both make a site look more professional overall in my opinion. I tend to be image heavy in my blogging and have started uploading more videos also, which makes the space upgrade/videopress a good deal for me. You may or may not find it as useful.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks … I’ll consider it when my payment comes due.

  • Happy to help. Let me know if you come up with any other questions.
