If-Modified-Since header
-
Can I add an If-modified-since header to one of my older pages, and if so, how do I do it?
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @windwhistle, you can’t on sites hosted here, but we already optimize caching and what not for you. If you need to tinker with headers, you might like your own WordPress.org installation instead.

Thanks, supernovia. I was afraid that might be the case but wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking something.

No problem, @windwhistle . Are you trying this to combat any particular trouble you’re having? Perhaps we could help with that.

No, just wanted Google to spider an old page I’ve updated so it would pick up and display the new excerpt instead of the 3-year-old dateline. They picked up the new blog description in just a day or two, but apparently don’t look at all the old pages. This is the page I’m talking about: https://piedtype.com/2013/10/08/new-live-streaming-webcams-on-line-in-estes-park/

Since that post has a very old date on it, you might consider creating a new post and adding an “Update” link to the old one.
Otherwise, you might just give Google more time.

I think I’d better just wait. The old page, despite the date, is coming up on the first page of search results for webcams in Estes Park. I want to enjoy that for as long as it lasts. But thank you for your suggestions. I appreciate your taking the time to reply.
