If my images are from a URL, what happens when that website is taken down?
-
I have a free WordPress blog. To load images, I first ftp them to a website that I own, and then I link to them using ‘add Media’. This is because ‘add Media’ does not allow uploads, at least with the free version of blogs from wordpress.com. One day however, I assume that the website of mine that contains the images will be removed. That also means that its images will no longer be online. Assuming that my images link to those, and haven’t been uploaded by WordPress to its own space, doesn’t that mean all my images in my posts suddenly disappear?
If so, then I put my images in a new website, (via ftp), would I be able to modify my blog to refer to that new location? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Wordpress.com allows to upload media, https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/.
All your images linked from another site will no longer be available the moment that site is no longer online.
