If not WordPress then who is hosting my site.
-
Hello,
I’m quite confused. According to godaddy, my site is hosted by WordPress. But it seems as if it’s a copy of WordPress using a different hosting service? How can I get to the bottom of who is hosting my site, and also to have access to my login credentials.
The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff). It is not hosted by WordPress.com or connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

Hi there,
Are you looking at the site jerryarmen.com? This domain is hosted by GoDaddy. It’s not hosted by us at WordPress.com. If you check the domain’s nameservers, you’ll see they are
domaincontrol.comwhich are GoDaddy’s nameservers. This indicates that the domain is pointed to their servers.Did you specifically ask GoDaddy that you were looking at the site jerryarmen.com? It’s possible GoDaddy said your site was built using WordPress and not hosted by WordPress.
There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about the differences, please check the following article that details the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org
On this forum, we can help with WordPress.com sites only. WordPress.org sites are any WordPress site that’s hosted by a different company, like GoDaddy. The site at jerryarmen.com is hosted by GoDaddy and therefore it’s a WordPress.org site, not one we can help with.
You can reach out to your host for help with your site. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and could also be able to help you here.
The WordPress.org forums are also a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
