If now spelled wrong
-
Hi, On Friday I changed my blog theme to the rebalance theme. Now everywhere I have the letters ‘if’ on my blog, they apear backwards as ‘fi.’ Life is then spelled lfie and if is spelled fi. I tried to edit posts to correct the problem, but when I go to edit mode, everything is already spelled correctly. I am viewing the posts on my iPad if that makes a difference. If you want to see an example of what I’m talking about, please go to andrewgabriel.wordpress.com on the commenting policy or on my most recent post. Thanks for your assistance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve always been wary of iPads !! Looking at your commenting policy on my laptop I see this:-
I will approve / post your comment if:
which looks ok to me. I looked at a few posts and they seem to have “if” the right way round too….

For the record, “if” is spelled fine when I view my blog on my laptop (running windows). Also, on my ipad “if” is spelled wrong whether I use Chrome or Safari.

Hi @andrewgabriel, does that happen in every browser? I’ve sometimes seen Safari do something like this but haven’t been able to duplicate it myself.

Ah I just saw this:
Also, on my ipad “if” is spelled wrong whether I use Chrome or Safari.
Would someone be willing to get some screenshots and either upload them to your media library, or put them on cloudup.com or a similar service and send the link?

I looked into this issue on this related thread and was able to replicate in Safari by updating to macOS Sierra and on my iPad by updating to iOS 10.1.1.
The issue itself appears to be caused by the Rebalance theme’s default font, Rubik. I was able to replicate by viewing the font’s page here:
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Rubik
I’ll get this reported back to the team and we’ll see what we can do. As a temporary workaround, you could consider selecting a different font via the Fonts panel of the WordPress.com Customizer. I’ll update this thread when I hear back from the team.

After a little more digging, I found that this issue has been brought up on Google’s GitHub repository here:
https://github.com/google/fonts/issues/401
I’ll follow along with that thread and post back here with any updates.

Hi all: Good news! The issue with the font mixing up lettering has now been resolved. :)
Let me know if you continue to have any trouble.
