If you could add an password…

Can you add an security of an sort of password for your blog so only the people that has the password can write and come in and see the blog? Many Swedish community and blogs have this feature so it would great to have it from keeping people you don’t want to see :)
Thx for answers! //antonht

Yes, it’s called having a private blog and you can invite up to 35 people to view it. If you want more than 35 users, it’s a paid upgrade.

I would like my blog to be protected with a password, but i won’t make my friends create a wordpress blog. I would like people who got the password to be able to check my blog even if they don’t have an account here. I’ve checked the faq (and the link that justjennifer added) but i really want people outside wordpress to be able to check it just if they got the pass!
Is that possible? And if not, why not? -
Can we get a link to your blog? The site linked to your username isn’t a WP.com blog and we won’t be able to help you with that.

You can add a password individually to every single post, but as far as I’m aware if you want the whole blog to be private you can’t use the password option. It’s just too insecure.

Thanks for the link (then of course I realized it’s private!). It’s more secure to have a private blog like jennifer says, because then if someone is letting someone else in it’s because they gave them THEIR password, and people are less likely to risk their own account. Does that make sense?
