If you could change one thing about your theme, what would it be?
-
I switched to Vigilance last year, and I mostly love it. The three things I would change (in order) would be:
1. The line spacing in lists is huge, so that using the category widget on my sidebar takes up pages and is really unwieldy. If there was a way to condense the lists so that I could have them all displayed instead of using the pull-down menu, that would be excellent.
2. I wish there was the option to have Archives and Searches pull up the full posts, or the first few lines of each, rather than just the titles.
3. I’d prefer the tags at the bottom of the post and the categories at the top, rather than the other way around as it is now.

I’m using Almost Spring, but on any of the themes I’d love to be able to change the background to a photo (with the option of stretched or tiled) without having to use CSS etc which is rather beyond me!

When someone who doesn’t blog and is not used to blogs wants to comment on my site, they generally put all sort of URL’s against website. So, I request you to include the words “Optional” against the website column in the comments section.

I like the theme alot, the name of it is QUENTIN, It’s just that i would like to be able to change the colors of theme, is that possible.

If you could help improve my theme, Modularity Lite, you could allow customization in adding menus to individual pages on the main body portion instead of as a widget on the sidebar. I would also suggest that the font is increased for better readability and more customization in formating the text when trying to post. Adding more widgets will also help so that we as users can customize more freely and be able to make our blog more personable. Lastly, I would suggest you allow users to be able to decide which comments are shown under the widget “recent comments”.

I would LOVE it if when the user clicks on a category they see a list of all the posts in that category. I have my blog set to show one post, so now when they click on a category they only see one little teeny summary of a post and have to navigate to get to the others. Not very compelling!!
Thanks.

All of the above! Er, well, I’m using INove and many of the above suggestions would be nice for my theme as well. However, the one I’d really like is the ability to add Reftagger (adds popup links for Bible verses; see http://reftagger.com/). It’s current implementation, available in WordPress.org, requires Javascript code in a template file that gets applied to every post.
Thanks for at least asking the question.

I would LOVE to be able to change the background color on Under the Influence theme. Right now the settings and accents are all so great, i can’t give them up for another theme BUT the all white background and body is starting to bore me. :(

I love using the Freshy theme, but an upgrade to ver 2.0 would be awesome. Variable width options would be a great feature, as well as changing the background. A drop down menu for the Navigation bar would be the “cats meow”! Keep up the great work!

Been using a lot of themes and almost all of them “fixed-width”. so all my pictures with width about 741px are resized.
Now, I set new theme yesterday with three columns and all pictures resized, but I actually like it. And I can adjust main column and sidebar width of the page where only one selected picture is displayed.
But if I will switch back to any other theme with one main column and sidebar – horizontal pictures will be resized again.

We have a group blog, and we use the “Benevolence” theme, and we would LOOOVE for you to change Benevolence so that each post can show who the AUTHOR is. (Currently we are using tags to show who the author is, and that doesnt work very well — the name just gets lost amongst the tags) Perhaps just a separate section that says “written by” in black, followed by the author(s) names in red.
THAT would rock our world!

Hi Lance – thanks for asking about this – and above all thanks to all at WordPress for this amazing opportunity for writing!
And – about Kubrik — would there be a way to add possibilities for people to wander a bit — “if you liked this you might like this” sort of temptation at the bottom of the main post or as widget in sidebar.
Probably there is something I haven’t thought of or seen — would keep interested people searching a little more than calendar or categories (though I appreciate those for sure!)
Thank you again – and happy new year! Katy -
My favorite looking theme is DePo Masthead. I love how it displays three columns of posts. It’s the only theme that does this. I also love the newspaper feel of this theme. This theme got me excited about starting to blog. But, I can’t use it, because for some reason it only displays the latest three posts on the first page and you have navigate the archives to find older posts. It would be great if you could fix it to allow for more stories to be able to be displayed on the front page. Thanks!

My theme is Tarski. Flexible width is one thing I really wish it had as I post a lot of photos.

I use Simpla for it’s clean look, showcasing my art. I wish I could change the title & text colors. Even a limited palette would be wonderful.

I worked with you a while back to see if I could create an “archive” in my theme – TWENTY TEN – like the VIGILANCE theme – whereby when you click the month, all the posting titles are listed, together with the number of comments. I love that.

For Coraline, the reverse-color block that highlights selected menu choices in the header is far too conspicuous (clunky, actually) for an otherwise clean theme. Menu items are links, so simply underlining a moused-over menu item instead of highlighting it with a reverse-color block is a visually subtle solution that should work with all background options.

I use Twenty-Ten, and as many of the above have mentioned, I too would really really like a sans-serif font. I find serif-fonts hard to read online. Also, as mentioned by others, the paragraph font size is a bit too big.
However, if I would be allowed one grand request, it would be to make it easier to put an illustrative image exactly where I want it in the post. As it is now, I almost spend more time getting the image in the right place – without all my text automatically hopping around, changing fontsizes, going bold, inserting extra paragraphs – than I do writing the actual post.
Other than that, I love Twenty-Ten, and think you’ve done some great work on all themes the past year:)

I use Ocean Mist which i belive is a very nice theme, alhough it would be nice to see the option of changing the colours of it.
