iframe Custom HTML loading in editor but not in preview/published post
-
Hi,
I want to embed some custom media in a blog post, and I used the Custom HTML block with the predefined HTML code. It works in the editor view when I switch the block from ‘HTML view’ to ‘Preview’, but then doesn’t show up in the preview of the post and even on the published post.
I tried the same embedding with some other media, like a YouTube video, and this works perfectly. The issue cannot be with the media I am embedding, as they list the embed code themselves and I have seen multiple pages with media embedded from the site.
What can I do to embed it properly?

Hi there,
We do allow embeds from trusted services (YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc.) but we do not accept all embeds. You can see a full list of the embeds we support here: https://wordpress.com/support/category/embedding-content/
To clarify, some embed codes are designed to work with self-hosted websites, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. They do not work on WordPress.com however, because they contain code that we remove from the live site. It does render in the editor (non-public view, but on the published page the code is removed.
You can upgrade to the WordPress.com Business Plan, which has advanced features that allow you to use any embed code you wish, as well as upload any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress”
