iframe widget – failing to upload it. I have no "plugin" options whatsoever

  Hi, I have looked everywhere and am running around in circles online and not finding the right answer.

  I would like to insert an iframe into my newest post… I read that I should install the iframe widget, so I downloaded it, but I now realise that I have no options to actually upload it into my wordpress (ie I have no “Plugin” option on my menu). Can you please advise me what I need to do as this is doing my head in. Do I need to upgrade wordpress? If so, how? (I can’t find info on how this is done either).
