Iframes for WordPress.com

  WordPress.com would be much better if users could freely add iframes to both blog posts and the sidebar. This could help people embed things like games, sharing widgets, and social widgets.

  It would also cause WP.com to be extremely vulnerable to hackers.

  No kidding. Everyone knows how unstable iframes are and what a security risk they present. Our blogs here at WordPress.com are not free standing. They share a common architecture and one unstable iframe could bring down many blogs and/or make them all vulnerable to hacking.

  I guess, but we could at least have really tight security on it.
  We could also have built in plugins to add things like games, sharing widgets, and social widgets to our blog.

  You can go to another free blog host that does not have a shared blogging platform like this one does. On any blogging platform where blogs are free standing ie. they do NOT share a common architecture as our do here at WordPress.COM the only security risk is to a single blog.
