Please read the Staff response here:
As IFTTT is not a WordPress.com service and there’s no support doc on integrating it with a WordPress.com blog I can’t really advise you more than that. If errors occur with WordPress.com’s Publicize http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/ what often works is to completely disconnect and then reconnect it. You might try that.

the situation is quite different:
In my case social networks are managed in/by worddpress.com (not as the problem from the other user) and already connected (as explained in publicize – reconnecting services).
All of the sudden the wordpress.com site dropped the iftt connected application.
https://wordpress.com/me/security/connected-applications (now I have only gravatar)If there’s no data where it was … well it’s difficult to say that iftt application removed itself and don’t want to connect anymore by itself.
From what I can see/understand it’s a problem on wordpress.com.
Note: two step authentication is not enabled.
Thank you for your reply.

I’m just going to throw this out here for consideration.
I have Feedly connected via IFTTT to post a draft on one of my WPcom sites when I perform a certain action on Feedly. IFTTT does not appear in the list of my “connected applications” mentioned here: https://wordpress.com/me/security/connected-applications
If I log into IFTTT and check my recipes, should an error occur there is an error log there that indicates what the problem is and how to correct it. There’s more information about that on the IFTTT website’s help page https://ifttt.com/help
I’m not aware that there is any connection between IFTTT and WordPressdotcom’s Publicize feature nor that anything can be done from the WordPressdotcom end but will be watching here also for Staff reply.

Hi, again just throwing this out for consideration. I felt the question here was about the error “Unable to verify WordPress.com” and what on the WordPressdotcom end might be causing that error, if anything.
The question that went unanswered (or maybe implied if not asked) in the IFTTT thread that tt pointed to previously is “Is my WordPressdotcom site’s RSS feed updated when I edit an existing post?” If that is the case, then that could explain the ping by IFTTT to the services that the OP’s site is connected to.
Thanks

“Is my WordPressdotcom site’s RSS feed updated when I edit an existing post?”
A little clarification, are you asking if feeds are updated to be accurate when posts are edited (changing a post title for example)? Or are you asking if an old edited post is then popped back up to the top of the feed?

We update feeds for edits/changes. But editing doesn’t change the position in the feed. Feed position is determined by “post date”. Not “date of last modification”.

well,
my iftt recipe is:
IF content exists from source THEN “Create a post on your WordPress blog” (with that content). The recipe/action worked for months but now, without doing anything on iftt or wordpress, is not working anymore.
When I try to reconnect I get “Unable to verify WordPress credentials. Please try again”
I personally don’t know if iftt uses publicize or apps or anything.
I just SUPPOSED that it was a connected application (my fault that I wrote in a way that seems that I knowed that it was there for sure).I’m just stuck and there’s no extra information from IFTTT or WordPress.com.

Hi again, assuming you have since seen the Support doc on IFTTT that I linked to above? https://ifttt.com/help
Sorry for the obvious question but are you logged in to WordPressdotcom when you try to reconnect while logged in to IFTTT?
If that is not the issue, can you try using a different browser to one you normally use?
-
I’m sorry if I haven’t replied meanwhile I’ve tried several different things.
Yes, I’ve read that url regarding wordpress.com.
Yes, I’m logged in when I try to connect and I tried also when I’m not connected.
I’ve tried to do it with Firefox, Internex Explorer Edge, Opera and Chrome.
With other IFTTT it works regularly and I never changed anything on ifttt or wordpress.
