Igbo Translation
-
Greetings, WordPress.
I was wondering whether there is an Igbo translation similar to the format de.wordpress.com.
Is there some work in progress towards that, please?
If not, I am willing to render my services to create an Igbo translation.
Gratitude.

Greetings and gratitude for the response.
After visiting the link and some others, I was prompted to open a WordPress.org account.
The reCAPTCHA challenge here: https://login.wordpress.org/register is not accessible on my device.

Hi there,
We do not have any control over the WordPress.org website, so we’re not able to help you with creating an account there.
Try Joining the WordPress Slack at https://chat.wordpress.org/, then you should be able to request help with this there.
However, I can tell you there is no existing Igbo translation for the WordPress software.
Before we can add support for that language on WordPress.com, there will first have to be an existing translation on WordPress.org, and we’ll need the WordPress.org translation to be as complete as possible before we can import it on our end.
You can see here how to request that a new language is added to the WordPress software on WordPress.org:

Greetings and gratitude for the feedback.
I am aware WordPress.org is independent of WordPress.com and the Igbo translation will need to be imported from WordPress.org.
The Slack link needed I be logged to WordPress.org, which was the problem in the first instance.
I shall find a means to contact WordPress.org.
Gratitude.

It looks like https://login.wordpress.org/register uses the new invisible reCAPTCHA. Is it possible for you to try using another device or browser if it’s not compatible with your browser?
-
Yes, obtaining a friend’s cellphone is an option I am exploring.
Given our attachment to our mobile devices, it will be a job to get him to give it up for some hours, so I can set up the account and explore the format for the translation.
I should appreciate if this thread is kept open.
That way, I can send a feedback on my progress with the translation.
Thank you very much and enjoy the rest of your day.

Thank you Umm Sulaim, and just to clarify as well, were you hoping to provide the translation for WordPress.org alone or did you want to have that option for WordPress.com ?
-
The Igbo translation is for both WordPress.com and WordPress.org, especially WordPress.com.
Please, is there a particular mode for its use on WordPress.com?
For instance, is there a coding system I need to adopt to make the translation compatible with WordPress.com?
Gratitude.

There is no coding involved. Translation is done through the GlotPress software at translate.wordpress.org and translate.wordpress.com respectively, but the interface of the two sites work exactly the same.
But the locale needs to be created on WordPress.org and translated to a certain point before we can import it here.
