Hello. I’m wondering why my menu’s changed from a bar with text (page names directly clickable) to an expandable icon. I prefer the former. Theme’s Illustratr. Any help appreciated.

A mobile menu is displayed on screens 767px wide and below, so that users on tablets and phones are able to navigate the site more easily.
Since you have access to custom CSS with your Premium plan, you could override this behaviour, but I don’t recommend it, as the traditional menu is difficult to use on touch devices.

I understand. Thanks for your response. I used to be able to select an option that renders the page mobile-friendly. That is, for desktops the text menu would appear. But when accessed on mobile devices, the menu would collapse and expand as it does now. Is this still possible to achieve?

If you could tell me in more detail what you find not mobile-friendly about your menu currently, I’d be glad to take a closer look. Illustratr is a responsive theme that automatically adjusts to the size of each device, so everything, including the menu, should work well at any size.

Perhaps I didn’t explain this sufficiently. The menu used to exist as clickable text for non-mobile. I would check a box in the CSS menu that would make the page mobile friendly by using a expanding/collapsing menu when accessed on mobile devices. So on desktops the menu would be seen as clickable text and on mobile devices it would be as it is now at all times. I’d like to be able to do this again.

The navigation menu on https://zevaaron.com/ is not displaying with the three-bar icon at all times. It’s displayed vertically, as a line of text links, on larger screens. That’s what I see when viewing the site at this moment on my desktop PC.

The mobile comes up on my laptop.
If you’re seeing the mobile menu on your laptop computer, is it possible the screen resolution on your laptop got changed? As I mentioned earlier, the mobile menu normally only appears on screens smaller than 767px, and most laptop screens are wider than that. Perhaps something got changed in your settings, even by accident?
