Illustratr Pinterest Help

Hi and thanks. :)
I use the Illustratr theme to host my photography website and blog. I recently turned on the Pinterest function. What I want is to have someone hover over an image with their mouse (or “thumb” the image on a mobile device) and have “Pin it” be an option.
Right now, when I hover over an image with my mouse, I see a “Pin it” button appear above the image, but when I move to click it, it disappears.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you disable the Pinterest function? I hovered a few pics and didn’t see the pop up at all.

And it’s strange. The Pin it button is on hover and it is above the image, not directly on it. And sometimes it works and sometimes it disappears.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am still not even seeing the Pin it button when I hover. Are all the images on your main page added via gallery? That might have something to do with it. I’m still searching and will post again when I have an answer.

Yes, the images on all of my pages and posts are via gallery.

I think I have the Pin it button appearing because I have the Pinterest button installed on my browser. It’s probably not visible to anyone but me.
Also, I have several posts that have a single image (not part of a gallery) and it, too, doesn’t have the social media buttons.
I do hope someone can help.

This sounds correct.
On WordPress.com, a Pinterest hover button is not currently an option (but I would love to that get added!) Right now, what you can do is embed profiles or boards. Here is a related help page about that: http://en.support.wordpress.com/embed-from-pinterest/

I scrolled through a few pages of your blog and this is the first post I saw that has a single image in it:
http://erikakaophotography.com/2014/03/17/473/I can see the social media sharing options at the bottom of that post.
It might be a different type of page that you saw the problem on? First, find the “Show buttons on” option in Settings > Sharing in your dashboard and make sure all the places where you want to see the buttons show up have a checkmark next to them. If you’re still having trouble after that, can you link to a specific post or page where you are seeing the problem happen?

Thank you. That makes sense. I have added the social media sharing buttons at the bottom of my posts, not pages, for now.
I was hoping I could have those buttons on each image, but I’m thinking that’s not possible.

I checked out http://erikakaophoto.wordpress.com/ and your images are wonderful! I am a little bit of a photographer at heart, so I always love seeing great photography blogs here.
If you decide not having the Pinterest hover button is a blocker for you in the future, could you let me know and include an explanation about why that feature would be important to your website so I can pass that feedback along?
