Illustratr portfolio

I can’t get my site to look like the Demo. I know I need to to click “portfolio page” or something but can’t find that option anywhere. I have pages in my portfolio by they aren’t appearing on the blog at all. I want them to appear on my home screen in image form with a headline/tagline and then lead to the blog (like the demo) but have tried for 2 days and can’t figure it out? please help!!

Keep in mind that the Illustratr demo displays portfolio projects on the homepage, not blog posts. Portfolios are meant for use in displaying creative work, separate from blog posts. They aren’t part of the blog, and when someone subscribes to get updates from your blog, they will not see portfolio projects.
If you’re looking for a grid-based theme that shows blog posts in the grid, here are a few themes you might want to consider:

On key thing you haven’t done yet is applied the Front Page template to your static front page – it’s still using the Default template.
