Illustratr theme titles on home page

    Hi there,

    I’ve just set up my portfolio using the illustratr theme and have made some basic CSS customisations such as changing the font etc. I am wondering if it’s possible to hide the titles for portfolio items on the homepage and to show just images. An example of the text I’d like to hide on my site would be the words ‘Shan-Yi’ and then ‘illustration’ in smaller font.

    Not sure if this is too big a change to make, meaning I should change themes, or something that is easy to alter.

    Sure, this would be the type of change that could be done with CSS. I’m not able to load up your site at the moment, as you’ve mapped it to michellebalogh.com but that domain isn’t coming up. It looks like your DNS isn’t yet pointing to wordpress.com. To finish the mapping process, you’ll need to log into your domain registration control panel and update the name servers to:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    Please be sure to first read our guide to mapping an existing domain – especially the heads-up about any email accounts you may have on the domain.

    Thanks for replying, I have now finished the mapping process (with your help – thanks!) , so you should be able to access the site now at michellebalogh.com

    To hide the portfolio item name and category on the homepage only, try adding this custom CSS: 

    .home .entry-title, .home .portfolio-entry-meta {
	display: none;
}
