'Illustratr' theme…help

Hi everyone,
I’m new in the blog/website thing en I can really use your help!
I selected the ‘Illustratr’ theme and on the wordpress theme page it shows like a ‘magazine’ (3 photos in a row with a little bit text underneath it). It doesn’t show like that at my page (I only have text en no photos).
Can somebody plz help? If you can: could you plz describe it step by step, I’m a nerd with this kind of things, i need a step by step tutorial ;pThank you!

Hi there, The illustrator theme shows the photos you see in the demo only when you are using the portfolio features, and set up the front page as a portfolio page.

If you don’t intend to use the portfolio features, but would rather display the featured images from your posts or pages on your front page, one of these themes might serve you better:

I chose the expound theme in the end…thnx =) -
the only thing left where I have trouble with now is this:
In the example picture from the theme ‘expound’ you see the latest post (the one on top with the bigger picture), there is also a little bit of text next to it.
I have my latest post (also a bigger picture) but I can’t seem to get the little bit of next to it! =(Maybe you can help me with that?

I can’t seem to change the name of my ‘home page’. What ever I do (change pages of widgets or whatever) it stays ‘startpagina’ (dutch for ‘home’) Maybe you can help with that? -
Are you using custom menus? If not, they will give you more control over what shows up in the menu and how it reads. Here’s how to set them up: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

Hmmm, the support video is really clear about it! but it doens’t work for me =(
I can add pages en put that in a main menu (if i add a page with de title ‘home’ i can put that in the menu but behind the title isn’t the homepage)
I can also select theme location ‘primair menu’ but that all doesn’t help…Its either my home made ‘home page’ without any homepage behind it, or the standard name ‘startpagina’ with my homepage behind it…
Does that make any sense to you? ;)

I think I understand the problem. Try this.
Add the page with the title “startpagina” to your menu. Then, once it’s over there, click the little down arrow on the right. That will open up a box where you can change the navigation label. If you change “startpagina” to “home” in that box you should be good.
